Identity of KingdomCome

The Name
Names are important: both in modern-day branding and in ancient biblical cultures. Our name, KingdomCome, reflects the essence of who we are and what we do.
KingdomCome expresses our vision: to advance God's Kingdom here on earth following mandates found in Scripture. KingdomCome is our call to prayer. Our name is derived from Jesus' instruction on prayer. We pray as Jesus instructed when he said, "Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10 We pray that all of God's chosen will be effective instruments through which the celestial invades, preserves and transforms the terrestrial. KingdomCome is our proclamation of ultimate reality. We proclaim with David, "For God is the King of all the earth.... God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne." Psalm 47:7-8 KingdomCome clarifies our purpose on earth. God said,"Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule.... God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful, increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it.'" Genesis 1:26, 28 The psalmist said, "The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to man." Psalm 115:16 KingdomCome is prophetic. Isaiah prophesied, "For unto us a child is born..., and the government will be on his shoulders....Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever." Isaiah 9:6-7 Daniel prophesied, "The God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed...." Daniel 2:44 John prophesied, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever." Rev 11:15 KingdomCome is patterned after Jesus' mission. Jesus said, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God..., because that is why I was sent." Luke 4:43 And earlier Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor...to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." Luke 4:18-19 Regarding Jesus' ministry with his apostles after his resurrection, Luke records, "... he appeared to [his apostles] over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God." Acts 1:3 KingdomCome represents our eternal inheritance. Jesus said, "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.'" Matthew 25:34 KingdomCome defines our destiny. Daniel said, "Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His [Christ's] kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers [saints] will worship and obey him." Daniel 7:27 KingdomCome reflects the apostle Paul's final passion. Luke wrote about Paul, "From morning till evening he explained and declared to them the kingdom of God, and tried to convince them about Jesus...." Acts 28:23 And later Luke wrote, "For two whole years Paul stayed there...boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God, and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ." Acts 28:30-31 |
